Burple

Description

Burple is a product visualization assignment where I developed a complete pop brand and showcased it through a website I designed. The project involved creating a brand identity from the ground up, including designing a logo, selecting a cohesive colour palette, and developing a label that reflected the brand's personality. I then 3D-modeled a can and applied the label to it, producing realistic renders to highlight the product's visual appeal. Additionally, I created a promotional video to bring the brand to life and engage viewers. All assets—including images, renders, video, and the website layout—were integrated into a polished web presentation that effectively communicates the brand identity, demonstrating my skills in branding, 3D modeling, rendering, video production, and digital presentation design.

GOAL

  1. Develop a distinctive pop brand that is visually appealing, memorable, and instantly recognizable.
  2. Design a logo, select a cohesive colour palette, and create a label that reflects the brand's personality and energy.
  3. 3D model a realistic can and accurately apply the label to showcase the product's form, texture, and appeal.
  4. Produce a promotional video and supporting imagery to highlight the brand and product in a visually engaging way.
  5. Assemble all assets into a polished website presentation that effectively communicates the brand identity and delivers an interactive, immersive experience for viewers.

PROCESS

The process began with defining Burple's brand identity, creating a vibrant, playful visual direction and designing a cohesive logo, colour palette, and label. The can was 3D-modeled with attention to shape, materials, and detail, followed by promotional imagery and renders that highlight texture and brand presence. A promotional video was produced to engage viewers, and all assets were integrated into an interactive website, combining visuals, video, and 3D product representation for a polished, cohesive presentation of the Burple brand.

PROBLEM

During the Burple project, several technical challenges tested both design and problem-solving skills. One of the biggest hurdles was creating the bubble texture on the can in Cinema 4D, which required extensive experimentation to achieve a realistic and visually appealing result. Navigating Cinema 4D for a large-scale assignment was also challenging, as this was my first time using the software for such a complex project. Learning the workflow, troubleshooting materials, and refining the 3D model pushed my skills to a new level, and overcoming these obstacles ultimately resulted in a polished, functional 3D product ready for presentation on the interactive website.

RESULT / CONCLUSION

The Burple project successfully established a fun and engaging brand identity that perfectly captures the playful, cartoony vibe aimed at a younger audience. I'm particularly proud of the logo and label design, which combine bold colours and whimsical elements to resonate with the target audience. The 3D-modeled can, complete with the bubble texture, alongside promotional imagery, motion clips, and the interactive website, all work together to showcase the product in a visually striking and memorable way. Overall, the project demonstrates a cohesive, vibrant brand presentation that effectively communicates Burple's personality and appeal.
